James L. Mackey, Co. D, 10th Pennsylvania Reserves

Washington, Pa, September 26 – James L. Mackey, aged 73 years, died here morning. He was a native of Chartiers township. Later the family removed to Canonsburg, and he attended Jefferson college for several terms. He served through the Mexican war. In ’61 he enlisted in the Jefferson Light Guards, the Tenth Pennsylvania reserves, and served a three year enlistment. He came to Washington soon after the war and resided here ever since. He was a blacksmith. The wife and two children, of Washington, survive him.
