The Philadelphia Inquirer, February 25, 1862, pg. 6.

Fayette County JAMES LUCAS, eldest son of Mr. John Lucas, of Brownsville, and a member of the Brownsville Greys, returned home a few weeks ago from the Potomac, in quite feeble health, and who, indeed, was no very vigorous at the time he enlisted in Captain CONNER’S company, six or eight months ago.  He died on Friday last, at the residence of his father, and on Sunday, was buried by the Brownsville Guards, with the honors of war.

Currently a resident of Burke, Virginia - I'm originally from the City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I have been a student of the Pennsylvania Reserves since 1997 and thoroughly enjoy telling their story. By trade I'm a former IT Professional but presently working as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service.
