Jonathan E. Buckeley, 4th Pennsylvania Reserves

Buckeley, Jonathan E., was born, Nov. 16th, 1823, at Wilkes barre, Luzerne co., Pa. He is the son of Jonathan and Elizabeth Buckeley. He graduated at Dickinson Coll., Carlisle, Pa., July 4th, 1842, receiving three years after the degree of A. M. and at the Jefferson med. Coll., Philadelphia, March 28th, 1846. In the spring of 1846 he began practicing at Plymouth, Luzerne co., Pa., but Dec. 4th, 1849, removed to Wilkesbarre, where he now lives. He is a member of the Luzerne co., med. Soc., of which he was elected president in Jan., 1873; the State med. Soc., of which he was elected vice-president June 12th, 1873, and also a member of the American Med. Asso. He was assistant surgeon of the 4th Pennsylvania Reserves, enrolled Nov. 26th, 1862, and mustered out on the expiration of their term of service, Jan. 12th, 1864; surgeon of the 1st battalion of one hundred days’ infantry, Pa. vols., enrolled Aug. 11th, 1864, and mustered out, their term of service having expired, Nov. 12th, 1864. He was married to Clara C. Stark, Sept. 17th, 1868.1
