Battle Field of Sharpsburg, Md. –

Friend Whitaker: We have met the enemy in two of their own positions, and whipped them like the devil. We have driven them from the mountains and the valley, and intend to drive them across the Potomac.

The following is the list of casualties in Company C, 10th Regt. P.R.V.C –

Battle of South Mountain, Sept. 14. Wounded – Samuel Moyer, thigh; Jno. Wimer, breast; John Yingland, both legs and thigh.

Battle of Sharpsburg, Sept. 17. Wounded – Thomas Templeton, right hand; Robert Fitzsimmons, ribs broken.

The rest of the boys are safe and sound.
